Weekly Weigh-In: September 14, 2010

Not sure what happened this week. I stood on the scales yesterday morning at home, and they told me I’d lost 2lbs (weighing in at 397lbs), but when I weighed in at my meeting, they said I’d gained 2lbs, weighing in at 401lbs.

I know, I know, “I will not gain weight to the point where I have a 4– as my weight in pounds.

It’s a blip. I’ve got my period this week, anyway. Ever since I came off The Pill, I’ve been getting my period twice a month for three days at a time. It’s a pain in the arse, dreadfully inconvenient, and costing me a fortune in sanitary products. I either need to go back on The Pill, or call the sexual health clinic in town about getting a Mirena Coil fitted like my doctor told me to.

TMI aside, I’m pissed off because, as I said, my scales keep telling me completely different stories from my meeting. It’s irritating, especially considering I had a great week: I stuck within my POINTs (and TRACKED, more to the point, and took my tracker in to Stacey) every day, and actually did about 30 POINTs’ worth of exercise, so what the hell went wrong?

Well, as I said: it’s That Time Of The Month. I’m retaining water like a crazy person; my ankles haven’t swollen like this since the last time I blogged about retaining water. But I’m pretty sure I can’t just blame it on that every time. 2lbs is a lot of weight to gain in a week (although we all know I’ve gained more) and it can’t all be water-weight.

But I joined a new spinning class. That’s another 45 minutes of STRENUOUS exercise per week. I’m still doing my 45/60 minutes of badminton on a Tuesday and my Sunday Morning Spinning Class.


To change subjects:

I went with a new dress, for Linda’s wedding.

Ignore the fact that I’m not wearing shoes.

I’m obviously hoping that I can lose a few more pounds before the wedding, and hoping they come off the right places (mostly my back/stomach, haha!) so that the dress looks a little better, but I think I’m going to stick with that one. I haven’t removed the tags, just in case.

But it’s a lovely satin-style material, and has a sash that can be tied front or back (I prefer it tied at the back, I think) and it just looks… nice.

I like the red. Purple looks better with my darker hair; red looks better with my blonde hair.

Need to decide on shoes/bag/accessories, etc.

But at least I can stop worrying about the dress.

  1. I like the red too!

    I've heard that drinking lemon water helps with water retention. I've started drinking 1 liter a day with 6 tbsp of lemon juice, then I add a bit of Stevia to sweeten it a little.

  2. I'm not sure that dress has the right cut for the top part. I think the purple dress had a better cut for the top. Was there one like that with the similar bottom style of the red dress?
