I had a last carb-y/sugar-y splurge yesterday, with a pack of onion ring crisps, a bar of tablet, and a pack of miniature Reese’s Peanut Butter cups. Probably not the best course of action, but I really wanted some sugar.
I started The South Beach Diet this morning anyway: scrambled eggs and (“Canadian” bacon: a bacon rasher with the fat and end pieces taken off) bacon.
I spent the afternoon making Kalyn’s Egg Muffins for my breakfast for the next two weeks. They were an absolute staple for me the first time I was on South Beach; they’re so filling and tasty and mmmmmmm.
What amazes me, so far, is that I’ve only had a little bit of hunger. If I was eating normally, I’d be starving by now. Probably a sign that I wasn’t eating anywhere near as much protein as I thought I was.
Right now, I really want a bar of tablet. The tablet they sell in ALDI is amazing; it’s the kind made with evaporated milk. Really crumbly and sweet and delicious.

The whole point of Phase One is to eliminate these cravings. I wish I had some Chromium Plus tablets right now, though. I’m wondering how to add some cinnamon into my diet, though, because I’ve been told that it’s supposed to level out your blood sugar levels.
