Day four, and no cravings today.
I had a moment of absolute hell when Mum said, “OH LOOK THERE ARE SOME GRAPES IN THE FRIDGE THAT HAVE TO BE EATEN TODAY. TRACY DO YOU…” and then she looked at me and said “OH BUT YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED, ARE YOU.”
I shook my head all sad-like.
WHEN I GET TO PHASE TWO I AM GOING TO EAT FROZEN WHITE GRAPES, WHICH I THINK IS ONE OF THE BEST TREATS ON THE FACE OF THIS PLANET. AND I AM GOING TO ENJOY IT SO SO MUCH.
But yes, other than that, I’ve barely even been hungry, which is an amazing thing for me to say, because I could swear blind that I am hungry ever second of the day when I’m not on a diet.
Sometimes, even when I am on a diet. No matter how much food I eat.
Like now? I’ve recently finished my dinner, about 25 minutes ago, and I’m thinking, “I’m still hungry.”
But I know I’m not. My stomach is still settling, because it was a fairly big meal I had.
I’ll have a drink and it’ll go away just as easily.
So, let’s talk about food, baby.
Breakfast was actually brunch. I doubled my omelette size because I woke up at eleven am and didn’t actually go down to cook until after noon, so I made double – 4 mushrooms, 4 shallots, 4 eggs, 2 slices of Canadian bacon – and it was a biiiiiiig omelette.
I wasn’t hungry for the whole bloody afternoon. (Success!)
Dinner was my own version of Kalyn’s Shrimp and Avocado salad with a serving of smoked salmon, 2 tablespoons of low-fat garlic and herb cream cheese, topped with a teeny bit of grated cheese.
I never usually eat seafood. I think fish tastes… fishy. It is Not Nice.
But this, tonight? Prawns and avocado and spring onions and the salmon mushed up and the cream cheese and the squirt of Tabasco sauce? I practically inhaled it, except that I didn’t, because I know better than that, haha!
It was lovely, though.
And then I had a small bowl of the vanilla ricotta crème from the South Beach Supercharged book for dessert.
And really, I think it’s amazing. My foods these past few days? Have had little to no additives in them. (Admittedly, I bought Splenda so that I can sweeten up low-fat plain yogurt, because I only like the bitter taste of yogurt when I’m using it to cool down Mexican dishes, and isn’t Splenda pretty much just additives?) And I’ve noticed a difference, but I’m not sure if it’s to do with the food or what.
But I’ve actually been waking up before noon the past few days. Even without my alarm set, I mean.
I woke at 11am today, but I didn’t go to bed last night until 2.30 in the morning because I was watching last week’s 24 and American Idol. Wednesday, I woke up at 10.30am, and I’d gone to my bed at half past midnight.
Like I said, I’m not sure if it’s got to do with my foods or what have you, but it’s kind of… nice. To be tired at night, to wake up in the morning.
To actually be eating real foods.
But I’ll get to next week and I’ll start weeping for pasta, I really will.
