In Which Fatso Babbles

During my massive spending spree at eBay (it wasn’t really massive. I had to sell a lot of stuff, including my busted laptop and my Nikon D40, in order to buy new stuff.) I bought a new pair of trainers.

I paid for my new trainers on February 28th, and they still have not arrived. I realise that’s not even a week yet, but the amount of other stuff that’s arrived that I bought AFTERWARD is incredible. And, of course, my trainers are the one thing that I’d really have preferred arrived soon.

Alas. They “will usually dispatch within 5 working days of receiving cleared payment.” That would have been Friday, and it’s still not been marked as sent. I still haven’t received feedback!

And I really, really want these trainers. I haven’t bought a new pair of trainers in 2 years. My Airwalks are literally falling apart, and the Nike Court Tradition trainers I have (more than 2 years old, very comfortable) are not great for walking in. The ones I bought on eBay look like they have great arch support, and are Nike Shox +, which means that I can buy the iPod+ if I want (but I won’t, I don’t see the point).

BLAH.

Anyway.

More news: I’ve posted reviews of Yoplat’s Perle de Lait range so far – “classic” and “lemon”, and rather than post yet another review of a “dairy dessert”, decided I’d just add it onto the end of another entry.

I finally managed to grab a pack of the coconut flavour ones at this past week’s grocery grab in ASDA. £1.97 for the pack of four, and I’m actually pretty glad this time.

The coconut flavour is delicious. It actually tastes like coconut, has bits of coconut in it, but it still has 5.6g of saturated fat per 100g. It’s pretty high, but it’s tasty.

So far, I’ve eaten two. I know that I shouldn’t eat the other two, but they’re taaaaaaaasty.

Went to the gym again today, and I’d made it one of my personal goals to manage 15 mins on the treadmill, all in one go.

And I did it today! 14 minutes at 4km/h, 1 minute at 5km/h. The 5km/h was insanely quick, but still didn’t bring me anywhere near jogging, thank God.

So, my workout today went:

15 minutes on the treadmill, 10 minutes on the arm bike, 5 minutes on the elliptical, 15 minutes on the recumbent bike, then hip abduction and adduction, chest press, Optimal Rhomb, squats and calf raises, finished off my Lucozade and refilled my bottle with water from the fountain, took a tiny rest, and then cooled down with 5 minutes at 3km/h on the treadmill before heading into the changing room to do my stretches.

Overall, I feel much better for it.

When I first stepped on the treadmill almost a month ago, I could barely make the 5 minute warm-up.

Now my 5-minute warmup is a 10- or 15-minute warmup, followed by a full workout, cool-down and stretch.

All I have to do now is get the food in check – rejoining Weight Watchers on Monday is seeming like a really really good idea now, because once again, like this place, it makes me accountable to more than myself. It’ll make me accountable to my Mum and my Leader, my class.

And to be perfectly honest, I’ve missed Weight Watchers. I think Mum and I were kidding ourselves when we said we could follow the Core Plan without attending the meetings.

But whatever. Mum’s just quit smoking (go Mum!) and so she’s been dealing with that, and I just couldn’t be bothered, to be perfectly honest.

This is all part of the “no more excuses” thing. I really think that rejoining Weight Watchers is in my best interest.

We’ll see how that goes. 🙂

For the minute, I’m gonna go make a bowl of cereal, a cup of coffee, and sit and watch some more episodes of Chuck Season 2.

Let's get social:
