Weekly Weigh-in #1: January 1, 2012

When I weighed in for the first time last year, I weighed in at 27st 4lbs.
That means, in 2011, I lost 35lbs. I had, of course, lost more than that before Christmas, but, uh.
Christmas happened, and I didn’t eat Paleo, and I didn’t track my food intake, and I didn’t work out.
(I think I’ve gained about 6lbs in the past two weeks, but I’m not sure. It’s a rough estimate.)
But today’s the New Year, and I’m still pretty pleased with having lost 35lbs over the past year, because I can feel the difference in my clothes, finally, even my back is still aching and I’m getting aches and pains everywhere else, too.
The point is:
I weigh 35lbs less today than I did at this point in time last year.
And I’m pretty goddamn proud of that.
Starting measurements for the year are as follows:
Upper arm: 17″ Underbust: 49.5″ Waist: 52″ Upper Thigh: 29.5″ Calf: 19.5 Hips: 64″
I got a little dressed up today. It’s not a full-family affair like Christmas Day dinner, but I figured I wanna look nice, anyway.

All in all, I think I look all right. My makeup always looks better in person than on camera.
And I think I look kinda strange, without my pillarbox-red lipstick, but I’m wearing my cotton-candy pink lipstick instead, because it goes better with this shade of ginger that my hair is right now.
*laughs*
2012 is going to be a great year, though, you guys and gals.
I’m looking forward to it, and to seeing what I can achieve.
I’ll post a list of my actual resolutions tomorrow, but for now, a question:

you look gorgeous and I love your big thick geeky glasses!
you had a GREAT year if you ask me, you've had some excellent results! Very proud of you!!
I'm not really sure what I wanted to achieve last year… I wanted to run more, and I wanted to run in other places but thanks to injury I didn't happen. So let's see… I wasn't able to run and I cycled instead. I cycled a lot. And I did a 70K Ladies Ride so I'm pretty proud of that.
This year, I want to continue running without injury and do all I can to enjoy it and relax rather than take on any pressure from elsewhere (I tend to compare myself with others and then I get disappointed in myself because I can't run 5K in 25 min, know what I mean?). And as much as I have accepted that this is where my weight is right now, I would still love to lose even 5 KG, but that still won't be my focus. And I still have my goal of running OUTSIDE of the Netherlands… and that will happen because, well… it's already going to happen *hint* …
Happy New Year Doll – great to have you as support and looking forward to kicking some serious ass with you this year!! xxx

You had a wonderful year, Tracy! You've done awesomely and I'm sure you'll do even better in 2012.
I didn't really try hard to achieve anything last year, so I can't say that I did or didn't.
This year, I'd just like to lose at least 20lbs (more if possible!), raise my stamina/endurance a bit, and just generally work on my health.

35 pounds is fantastic!!! You're doing really well. You and I are pretty much at the same stage, and you and I can both DO this!
By the way, you look amazing. I LOVE your glasses!!

I hope I\’ll do MUCH better in 2012! I know I tried hard, but I can always try harder!
And those are both awesome things to strive for, Astrid! Best of luck. :)

I know how much that injury knocked your confidence last year, so I wish you an injury-free 2012, too! :) And yeah, try to let weight loss be a side effect of good diet and exercise, instead of the focus of. Maybe it'll happen easier that way. <3
Here's to a fabulous 2012 for the both of us, m'dear. :)
